During the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival the ISC held an event in the Light House Cinema on Saturday 21st March 2015 to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Stanley Kubricks epic film "Barry Lyndon"
John Leahy, General Secretary ISC introduced four members of the "Barry Lyndon" camera crew.

Larry Smith (BSC) was Chief electrician
Laurie Frost was Assist Camera

Ciaran Tanham, president of the ISC chaired the event. It was wonderful the listen to the stories and experiences of the four crew members some of who went on to work on major multi million film productions.
This is the lens that was built by Zeiss for NASA deep space photography and used on Barry Lyndon. Most Zeiss lenses have a fastest aperture speed of 1.3 This lens has an incredible aperture speed of 0.7. There are only four of these in the world.
